Introduction
I am the Digital Asset Manager for Nomad Editing Company and one of the pioneer users of CatDV Media Asset Management software.
How long have you been working in the digital asset management world?
1 year now. As soon as I moved here from NYC.
How would you define your role in recent digital asset management projects?
I oversee our Cache-A archive systems as well as beta-test the new CatDV system to archive 30 years of commercials. I am the chief archivist for Apple commercials.
How did you find yourself working in digital asset management?
I wanted to be a film editor and found myself in an opportunity to become a full-time employee in a new exciting field I didn't know much about. Because I am the archivist, I learned more about editing in just one month than an assistant editor will learn in a year. It also allowed me to work closely with our VFX dept where I am slowly learning the ins and outs of other software I would have never touched upon.
If people could only remember one thing about you, what would you want that to be?
